About Us

We’re Remote, a specialist software studio with over 25 years of experience delivering tailored software systems that help businesses scale sustainably. Our clients include industry-leading organisations such as Volvo, Volkswagen Group, Sony, and Tesco, as well as high-growth companies with revenues of £5m to £50m.

We’ve built our reputation on delivering business operations platforms that optimise processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enable our clients to scale successfully. Our approach combines deep technical expertise, collaborative relationships, and a commitment to innovation.

At Remote, we’re building the future of software development by creating a reusable platform—Autm—designed to reduce the complexity of custom work while maintaining our high standards of flexibility and client satisfaction.

Joining Remote means being part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team that values autonomy, excellence, and sustainable growth.

Your Role

As the Scope and Delivery Lead, you will play a key role in bridging client needs and development team execution. You’ll act as the central point of knowledge for projects, ensuring the smooth translation of client requirements into actionable scopes of work and monitoring project progress to deliver exceptional results.

This role focuses on functional requirements gathering, project scoping, and oversight—working closely with a Scrum Master (who handles sprint planning and team facilitation) and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Scoping

• Engage with clients to understand their functional requirements and objectives, translating their needs into clear epics, stories, and features.

• Collaborate with leadership to refine requirements and validate scopes of work.

• Create client-facing proposals and detailed project scopes with supporting documentation.

• Support story-pointing sessions with the team to provide accurate estimates and timelines.

Project Monitoring & Progress Tracking

• Maintain and update the project scope and progress tracker (currently spreadsheets, with plans to migrate to more advanced tools).

• Track completed features, outstanding tasks, and evolving requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Liaise with the development team to ensure priorities and timelines are met.

• Provide clients with regular updates on progress, risks, and changes to scope, managing their expectations effectively.

Client & Team Liaison

• Act as the primary point of contact for functional requirements and project progress throughout the project lifecycle.

• Work closely with the development team to provide clarity on project requirements and priorities.

• Communicate any risks, delays, or required changes to scope proactively and collaboratively.

About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional results. You’ll be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to balance the needs of clients and the development team effectively.

Must-Have Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in a similar role, such as Product Owner, Functional Consultant, or Delivery Lead.

• Familiarity with Agile development processes, particularly the creation and management of functional requirements.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and team members.

• Strong analytical skills to translate client needs into structured, actionable scopes of work.

• Experience using tools such as DevOps, Notion, and Google Sheets for project tracking and documentation.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills to keep projects on track.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Basic understanding of software development and technical terminology.

• Experience working in a custom software development environment.

• Familiarity with project management tools.

Our Culture

At Remote, we believe in:

Collaboration: We work closely with clients and each other to deliver the best outcomes.

Continuous Improvement: We’re always looking for ways to do things better, both for our clients and internally.

Autonomy and Responsibility: We trust our team members to manage their work while providing the support they need to succeed.

Innovation: We’re not afraid to challenge the status quo, especially as we transition toward our reusable platform, Autm.

Sustainability: In both our work and relationships, we value long-term, scalable solutions.

Why Join Us?

• Work on exciting, high-impact projects with established and growing businesses.

• Be part of a collaborative team with a reputation for delivering exceptional results.

• Opportunities for personal and professional growth as we scale our processes and platforms.

• A flexible work environment that supports a healthy work-life balance.

What’s In It for You

At Remote, we are committed to creating a rewarding and supportive workplace where your career can thrive. As part of our team, you will benefit from:

  • 32 days of paid leave, including your birthday off.

  • Generous professional development funds to support your growth.
  • A well-stocked kitchen with bean-to-cup coffee for that much-needed energy boost.
  • A friendly, open-plan studio located a 5-minute walk from the centre of Shrewsbury.
